Real Wish makes your wish in data center comes true.
Data Center Automation
Take control of your data center by implementing Data Center Automation, which enables you to do the followings:
Data Center Automation controls not only IT resources, but also data center critical power and cooling. Cloud automated processes like load balancing, workload migration, high availability must be aligned with the UPS & CRAH operations. Typical scenario is on weekend due to low usage virtual machines might be consolidated into few servers in high density racks. The workload migration can be automated so the UPS & CRAH for that particular racks or zone can be turned off automatically and hence improve energy efficiency of the data center.
Whether you are using VMWare VCloud Director or Citrix XenServer and XenMotion or other cloud solutions, we can provide consultancy on how to integrate your cloud software into your power and cooling functionality.
Air Containment for Cooling Efficiency
Cooling comprises of 25% of energy consumption in data center, second highest after IT equipment. Having the most efficient CRAH, chiller, economizer, pump, cooling tower does not necessarily translate into the most energy efficient cooling system. Poor air contaiment system and poor cabling management will lower the cooling efficiency. Poor air containment will cause cold air bypass, leakages of returned hot air, mixing of cold & hot air. Poor cabling management will obstruct the air flow. As a result we need to the lower the set point temperature in CRAH and chiller in order to achieve the intended intake cold air temperature, and we need to increase VFD fans speed to increase the airflow into the rack.
The sad thing is the installations of structured cabling, precision cooling and critical power are done by different sub-contractors. Each sub-contractor has its own technical justifications when they install their own product. Air leakages are not addressed properly during the installation of raised floor, racks, network & power cabling, cold aisle or hot aisle contaiment system, chimney (vertical duct for returned hot air). Meanwhile the aircond subcontractor may not fix all of these discrepancies, as they are only paid to install CRAH, chiller, etc.
We can help you to bridge the above gap by providing independent and unbiased consultancy at the design stage, commissioning, operation, and continuous improvement stage.
Integrated Battery Management Services
VRLA batteries are commonly used as reserved power for UPS operation. Without well-functioning battery plant/room, data center is running a high risk for downtime when there is blackout. Genset will not start fast enough to keep the IT equipment alive during few minutes blackout. It is very critical to have robust battery system design and strict operation and maintenance procedures. It is sad that batteries are often ignored or overlooked during the early stage of UPS or data center design. This causes not enough space and fit-out provided for the battery room, that later on will compromise the performances. Floor loading limitation in most data center is the main barrier to stack batteries too high in order to save space.
With the innovation in pure lead battery technology that makes higher discharge power we can benefit to have fewer batteries. Moreover some UPS manufacturers recently come out with lower DC bus system, which enables much fewer blocks of batteries. With our consultancy and proper selection of UPS and batteries, we can help you to reduce capital expenditures in batteries & UPS, as well as to reduce the footprint.
With our wide connection to major UPS, battery, cabinet/rack vendors and sub-contractors, we can help you to save cost. We are not interested in selling equipment to you or biased to any vendor. We will provide you comparative study, both technical and commercial so you can make well-informed decision.
We can also help you install Battery Monitoring System (BMS) to monitor battery parameters, to track the record in the cloud, and to provide alert to authorized personnel for any battery performance issue. Moreover we can provide 7x24 hrs 2-hour on-site service to proactively respond to any alarming alert in your batteries. We can activate battery replacement when any battery starts giving problem and has not developed into more severe problems (e.g. heat or fire).
Wire-Free Network Sensors
Sensors in data center are used for monitoring, tracking, and controlling physical and environmental conditions. Common applications include environmental monitoring (including heat, pressure, sound, and motion), object tracking, process control, building controls, fire detection, and physical security. However many sensors are still utilizing power & wire network, which adds complexity and loads to the already congested networks.

Take control of your data center by implementing Data Center Automation, which enables you to do the followings:
- Service configuration and provisioning
- Manage your compute resources & networking in the cloud
- Create rule-based policies
- Remediates discrepancies and automate actions
- Compare configuration alignment between development, testing and production

However many sensors are still utilizing power & wire network, which adds complexity and loads to the already congested networks.
Wire-free network sensors will solve this issue and make it possible to monitor physical assets and environment of the data center without using network cabling. Wire-free network sensor can be installed anywhere in the data center and can be as small as a button. Thousands of sensors can transmit data to a reader within 90m distance. Sensors are peel-and-stick so they are easy to install. There is no need to set IP or SNMP set/trap. This boost DCIM capability.
Wire-free network sensors are the implementation of internet-of-things in data center. Data center managers want to monitor much more things and analyze the big data collected from every equipment and hardware in the data center. With more specific sensors they can take more specific actions to tackle a certain issue.
We can help you to implement wire-free network sensors and to integrate them into DCIM.

Facility Management Documentation and Audit
The vendors of power, cooling, cabling, fire protection and others often don't provide SOP, MOP, EOP, AP documentation for your critical facility. Writing the sript of each documentation requires special skills and knowhow on the overall data center design, operation and maintenance experiences of each equipment. A facility engineer is not expected to master all these in great details.
With our extensive experiences we can help your data center or your facility management company to strategize the documentation needed, to train your operation staff on how to use and update, as well as to audit.
Moreover we can provide innovative way of retrieving each document stored in the cloud using mobile App by just scanning the picture of each equipment. That way each authorized personnel can quickly respond to any issue at the site and doesn't need to trouble himself to retrieve files from his PC/laptop and further delay the problem resolution.
